Golsana Shenasaei

Cellist, Sound Designer, Composer

Golsana Shenasaei (she/her) is an Iranian cellist, composer, and sound designer based in Berlin. With over a decade of professional experience, she has performed with orchestras, ensembles, theater productions, and festivals across Iran and Europe.

She has been a member of ensembles including the Tehran Philharmonic Orchestra, the Austro-Iranian Symphony Orchestra, the Nilper Symphonic Orchestra, and Tehran Contemporary Ensemble, performing repertoire ranging from classical symphonic works to contemporary compositions.

In 2017, she co-founded Duos Duet with violinist Niki Yaghmaee. The duo creates cinematic, classical–world crossover, and experimental music rooted in their classical training and Iranian heritage. Their work blends acoustic performance with digital production and has been presented through concerts, interdisciplinary collaborations, and music videos.

Golsana’s artistic practice integrates improvisation, live looping, and field recordings. Using Ableton Live, she transforms raw sound material into layered compositions that merge acoustic cello with electronic textures in both recorded and live performance contexts. Her work explores themes of belonging, memory, and sonic identity.
