At the heart of Sound Base Berlin are the multitude of scenes and communities that shape the musical landscape in Berlin, often through queer, migrant, and diasporic perspectives. Each evening of the series combines live performances with conversations and DJ sets. The second event focuses on artists working at the intersection of memory, the present, and new forms of expression. The programme brings together two Berlin-based duos who engage with musical influences from Iran in very different ways. 

On February 5th we celebrate the release of „Spökenkieker“, the 15th album of SICKER MAN, with a very special line-up. Apart from his constant collaborator KIKI BOHEMIA on electronics and bass, there will be a little ensemble of four  extra musicians featuring violin, cello, saxophone and trumpet. Together they will perform the unique music of "Spökenkieker". Elements of Spiritual and Free Jazz, Orchestral Swing and Impressionism perfectly align with Dubstep Beats, Ambient Soundscapes and Electric Cello Noise, creating a temporal confusion that blurs the lines between memory and reality.

Support act: Duos Duet

Resonant Conversation is a musical project by composer Mehdi Hesamizadeh, centred on the idea of dialogue shaped through microtonal tuning. The work traces a back-and-forth journey that continually returns to tradition, childhood, place, and time, revisiting them as both origin and destination.
The composition also involves live sound processing, where the performers expand and reshape the material in real time. The project explores how slight shifts in tuning, gesture, and texture can hold emotional weight, allowing sound to take on the character of conversation, and from that conversation, stories begin to unfold.

Far away from everyday life, a very special kind of parallel society is created for five days. In a collective state of exception, a carnival of the senses unfolds in a place without time, reflecting the longing for a better world.

But because there is nowhere where people are free, it is precisely the union of fusionists from all countries and vacation communism that makes us feel that we want more than what we are offered in this life.

Experience Majid Kazemi's Electrofusion, where Eastern melodies blend with electronic rhythms. Opening the night is Duos Duet, a violin-cello duo that merges Middle Eastern influences with modern loops to create unique soundscapes. The evening wraps up with DJ Reza Jalilian at the after-party.
